Indiana Society for Histotechnology: Historical View

1999 – 110 members

1991 – First State Newsletter distributed and a state meeting was held in the
summer.

April 1990 – Meeting at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Organization of a State Society incorporating Lake County
Society for Histotechnology and the Central and Southern
portion of the State occurred. Application for incorporation
was made to the Secretary of State and officers were elected.

May 1989 – First Fall State seminar announcement was mailed out. With
the support of the Regional IV Director and State Presidents
the meeting was a success.

April 1989 – Enough interest was generated to include the histotechnologists
from entire state of Indiana.

February 1989 – First meeting to form Lake County Society for Histotechnology.

1982 – Attempts to keep a State society failed and the Society folded.
Twenty-two East Chicago, Indiana histotechnologists held a First meeting to form Lake County Society for Histotechnology.
